| | Review of this title : | I enjoyed reading this book and it will definitely have a place in my briefcase. The authors have produced an excellent introductory text covering six vital components of modern construction management. The references listed at the back of each chapter are particularly useful. This book "hits the mark" in terms of its intended use and audience.
In addition, this text will be of particular use to practitioners tasked with pre-qualification for bids with its extensive coverage of Health and Safety; Environmental Management Systems and the deployment of IT, thus allowing contractors to develop their policies on a sound basis from information contained within this highly instructive book.
The authors have done an admirable job in tackling such an ambitious task in covering such a disparate set of concepts and bringing them together in one volume. In my opinion they have succeeded in producing a very important text. My recommendation is for students and practitioners to read this book. It will be an excellent course book for students and a very useful refresher for practitioners in what it an extremely complex industry.
Principal Contractors who succeed with the six concepts covered in this book will gain sustainable competitive advantage in the 21st Century.
